Procrastination True and False is a test intended to inform the test-taker about recent research findings regarding a behavior that is a problem for many people.

Procrastination is a complicated failure of self-regulation. It is defined as the voluntary delay of important tasks that we intend to do, despite knowing that we will suffer as a result.

Everyone procrastinates occasionally. Procrastination becomes a problem when it becomes habitual and self-destructive. In this test we call such people procrastinators.

You may be a procrastinator. Even if you are not, chance are you know a true procrastinator: a family member, a friend, a neighbor or a coworker. These people often appear to be carefree. They enjoy their favorite pursuits. On the other hand, sometimes they are fighting a deadline, tense and “stressed-out.” They swing between moods as they move from their pleasure state to anxiety when it comes time to “pay the piper.” They seem unable to control or manage their own use of time.

As you take the test, you will learn about procrastination and gain some insights into how to reduce the tendency to procrastinate.
