Resources

My articles draw on my experience as a life coach, mentor and communicator. They are also the product of a lot of research. Sometimes, during my research, I discover resources that I end up coming back to again and again.

I especially turn to the following, my top-five go-to books:

Atomic Habits by James Clear

An Easy & Proven Way to Build Good Habits & Break Bad Ones

The Five Love Languages by Dr. Gary Chapman

Dr. Gary Chapman identifies five basic languages of love and then guides couples towards a better understanding of their unique languages of love. Learn to speak and understand your mate’s love language, and in no time you will be able to effectively love and truly feel loved in return. Skillful communication is within your grasp!

The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz

We create limits and assumptions in our heads that create anxiety, rob us of joy, and cause our own needless suffering. This book can teach us how to eliminate those self-imposed beliefs from our thoughts and live our happiest lives by reminding ourselves of four simple mottos.

The One Thing by Gary Keller with Jay Papasan

Purpose without priority is powerless.” Gary Keller

To me, this is one of the most powerful quotes I’ve ever read. This book talks about people focusing their energy on one thing at a time to live more rewarding lives.

Self-Confidence Workbook by Barbara Markway, PhD and Celia Ampel

Self-confidence begins with knowing yourself. From facing fears to practicing acceptance and self-compassion, The Self Confidence Workbook offers practical, accessible strategies to get to know your best self and see real-world results.

In addition, I have used most of the resources shown below as references during the writing of the articles included in this site. I find each of them quite helpful, that’s why I recommend them.

I appreciate the work of the authors of these books. Good books are treasures. I would like to share these treasures with you. In the words of J. K. Rowling, “I do believe something magical can happen when you read a good book.” I suppose she would know.

Please feel free to suggest other books you think I should include here. Just use the comment box below.

If you have read any of the resources shown above and would like to provide a review, please send it to me via email: personalskillscoaching@gmail.com
