The test may help you understand the meaning of self-awareness and be a first step toward becoming more self-aware. To begin, click the Next button 1. Can you name the behaviors you are doing at all times? Yes. My behaviors are always intentional. I can explain what I am doing at all times. Sometimes. I am usually aware of what I am doing. Although, at times I get caught up in something and don't fully realize what I am doing. No. I rarely anticipate, plan or know what I am doing. None 2. Can you always name the emotions you are feeling? Yes. I can always, or almost always, name and explain the emotion I am feeling. Sometimes. I am usually aware of my emotions. Can you identify what causes you to shift to a negative emotion? Yes. I can list common patterns that produce negative emotions, and the events, people or circumstances that trigger them on a recurring basis. Sometimes. I can usually identify what causes a shift to negative emotions, but sometimes it takes a while. No. I rarely know what causes my negative emotions. I can list my common emotional patterns, what causes these patterns and how they affect my life. In some cases. I know what I have a tendency to do, but it is not always consistent or recognizable. Can you assess how biases and other tendencies affect your thinking? Yes. I know i have biases and that they tend to affect my thoughts and actions. I can identify when they would get in the way of applying my values and principles. Sometimes. I know people are influenced by human nature, but I don't always know how these influences affect me. I can tell you my coping mechanisms and the situations that trigger them. I know how they developed in my past and whether they still serve me. Generally. Can you evaluate the effect of cultural narratives on you, and how they influence your thinking? Yes. I know cultural narratives exist and how they affect my thinking. I can distinguish between what I know to be true and what other influences make me feel I should do. Sometimes. I know that cultural narratives exist and I know they influence my thinking. I imagine that there are influences affecting me that I still don't recognize No. I don't know what cultural narratives are.
